Pennsylvania. The company was founded in 1948 by Richard "Dick"
Stack, and now has over 50,000 employees. Dick's is the largest sporting goods
retailer in the US and is listed on the Fortune 500.
As of 2020, Dick's is the largest sporting goods retail company in the US,
with over 800 stores. There are approximately 50,100 employees at the public
company, which is based in Pennsylvania outside Pittsburgh. The company's
subsidiaries include Field and Stream, Golf Galaxy, and Public Lands. There
were over 700 Dick's stores, close to 100 GolfGalaxy locations, and over 30
Field & Stream stores. Team Sports HQ is a collection of digital products,
following the acquisitions of Blue Sombrero, and GameChanger.
Edward W. Lee Belitsky is the chief financial officer of the company. The
company will have a female CEO on February 1, 2021, when Stack becomes CEO. The
company opened a distribution center in Conklin in Southern Tier, New York in
January of last year. Dick's has several brands, including the women's line
Calia and the men's brand VRST.
The "House of Sport" concept stores were opened by Dick's in
Victor, New York, and Knoxville, Tennessee. Features such as an outdoor turf
field and track, climbing wall, batting cages, and a digital golf range can be
found at the stores that are larger than Dick's flagship locations. Public
Lands is a chain of Dick's stores that focus on outdoor recreation including
camping, hiking, and biking.
